“The facility (MVCCC) and services have been very helpful to me, especially the Relaxation Skills class, the Life After Treatment Workshop, and private counseling.”

Comfort based Massage therapy is an non-invasive, comfort based massage for cancer patients or those with a history of cancer. The massage is given using gentle strokes and light pressure. Each session is specifically tailored to meet your needs.
When planning the session the Massage Therapist takes into account the following: any sites affected by surgery, radiation, IV catheters, skin conditions, pain, bone weakness, as well as platelet levels and side effects from medications including chemotherapy.
Massage therapy has been shown to give relief from many of the physical and emotional discomforts of cancer and its treatment. It can aid in reducing insomnia, nausea, fatigue, and muscular tension. Massage therapy can address emotional distresses such as: anxiety, depression, and loneliness. It can also improve mental factors, such as concentration and self-image.
